Collections and reclining your seat on an airline....is there a relation?

Recently CNN posted a question about reclining seats on airlines, is it a right or not?

Well...I'm not going to venture down that path...that discussion was like a lightening rod in a storm.

But I did like the Southwest Airlines solution to the problem. They're starting to implement pre set seats which are set at reclining 3 inches and no more. Being on tight take off schedules, Southwest didn't want to spend time acting as referees among passengers about reclining seat disputes. Southwest resolved the problem by standardizing it.

So...what's the connection to Collections of Receivables? Here it is: Standardization of the Collection Workflow saves  time, takes out guess work on call intervals,  structures the handling of disputes and .....ultimately brings in cash quicker.  In the end, your customers, and your collectors, will know what to expect ahead of time.  No surprises should await anyone....all is good.

But what's in your cockpit?  Do you have the controls needed to implement a standard solution?  System guidance is critical to "navigating" your collection of Accounts Receivables. You need to segue away from manual navigation and more towards an automatic pilot.  Upgrade your collection system and soar away !

  1. Great blog, and great topic - but, I am much more interested in what is taking place in the cockpit. Who's flying this, and is his crew well prepared for turbulence.
